WHO WE ARE…

Better Homes & Guardians is a Christian Foster Care/Adoption Agency, license # 1553978.  As a Christian agency, all of our staff have a personal relationship with Christ and are actively involved in their faith.  BH&G is a Division of Life Skills International.

Better Homes & Guardians believes that every child deserves to be raised in a loving home by their birthparents.  In a world where people don’t always make the best choices, many children are denied this right.  As a result, BH&G seeks to provide children in need, a loving foster care/adoptive home where they can grow, develop, and thrive in an environment that cares for them deeply.

Life Skills International is a network of affiliate centers around the world whose trained facilitators teach the Learning to Live, Learning to Love curriculum.  Founded by Dr. Paul Hegstrom, this curriculum was originally created to support and aid people involved in abusive relationships.  However, the Life Skills curriculum helps to improve, fine tune and bring enrichment to any relationship, whether abuse is present or not.

In 28 years of research in mental health counseling and psycho-educational programs, LSI has discovered how to restart the healing in the brain of a child who has been deeply wounded.  The vision of the founder is to bring healing before the wounds of childhood effect the adult life.
